Is there a way to buy flex or discount lift tickets for Blue Mountain Ski Area?
I’m moving to the Philadelphia area and was wondering if there was a way to ski Blue Mountain (or any Pocano mountain) at reduced price. Thanks!
There’s always some coupons for discounts at all of the Pocono resorts. I don’t know about specifics for Blue Mtn and a flex plan. You should check their website or phone them for details.
As for deals and coupons: WMMR (Philly) and WZZO (Allentown) usually run special days at Jack Frost and Big Boulder. WVIA (Scranton) normally has a member appreciation day at Blue Mountain in early January. 90% of the people who go are not WVIA members and the vouchers seem to get out to lots of people. There’s a $10 off coupon for Big Boulder/Jack Frost that can be found at most Dunkin’ Donuts in eastern PA. Camelback and Shawnee always have discount coupons they send to the HR departments of a lot of companies. The local interest magazines almost always have some coupon for one of the resorts in it and quick-marts and supermarket bulletin boards are other good places to look for coupons. Of course the ski shops and sporting goods stores usually have them too.
However, the best way to ski the Poconos for free or get a discount is to join a ski patrol. Most of the resorts will give you a comp, especially on weekdays. Some places will give you half-off on weekdays. The Delaware Valley Ski Patrol is based out of Lambertville, NJ (just over the river from Bucks County) and their members patrol at Blue, Frost, Boulder, Camelback, and Alpine. Get to know some of their folks and if you are Ski Patroller you’ll probably get a hook-up.
