How can I found out list of major employers in a particular area that I never visit.?

I’m thinking about relocating in the near future. I like to get to know the major employers so I can see what job opportunites are out there & do some research before I visit. Are there any websites also that discuss jobs/careers & relocation. If anybody know please let me know. I’m still interested in gettting list of major employers.

You should be able to access something called the "Million Dollar Database" through your library. If you enter the zipcode for the destination area, and other parameters, you will get a list by corporation size, including private and public companies, their officer listing, and a brief of their most recent published press information.

Also, you can google "major employer" or major corporations by city (maybe include the city name) and it should bring up many choices.

Monster.com is a first good source that will lead you to salary information for your field, cost of living by areas, etc.
