What areas or counties of Texas are most fertile or conducive to growing the most food/crops?

What areas or counties of Texas are most fertile or conducive to growing the most food/crops? What grows best in the area that you mention?

In the panhandle and near the panhandle wheat grows good. Amarillo, Lubbock , Hardaman county and on down to Vernon and Witatal Falls. The grass looks bad, but it is full of minerals and vitamins that is good for cattle. Around Abiline, Anson and Hamlin, cotton grows very good. In the Houston area, peanuts, rice and pecans grow very good. I would say each area is fertile for the crops that it grows.

I have lived in two of the areas and had relatives that grew cotton in the other area.
