Why do some maps show smog/acid rain in the "Four Corners" area of the United States?
Some maps I’ve seen show mild air pollution area. I need to research the cause for one of my classes and can’t find any good information online.

Also, I know the prevailing winds blow LA’s pollution eastward into Arizona. As more cities are growing in Arizona, Nevada, and Utah, the Four Corners region may be where it all ends up.
Electric power plants in the area that burn coal and release NO and SO4 and CO and CO2 might be a source.
