Is there any site where I can find proofs of various polygon area formulas?

Like triangle, parallelogram etc. It would be good if everything was on the same page :)

Wikipedia usually explains how the formulae are achieved. I haven’t searched much.

I mean some are obvious: triangle, rectangle/parallelogram, regular penta/hexa/octogon.

  1. Wikipedia always has things like this. These are also common shapes so you can be guarenteed that the information is most likely correct.

The circle proof requires calculus (or rather, I cannot see a way of actually proving it without it). But the other shapes use just common sense and basic mathematical reasoning.
