I’m planning on moving toNorth Carolina in a month and was wondering if someone could tell me what areas/cities are good to live in. I don’t have a job lined up and want to move to a place where (1) the cost of living is reasonable (2) is safe (3) where I can find a [...]

Someone please help me with confused Trig Triangle Area question?

So I am given the question. A triangular block of land has been surveyed and pegged out. Calculate the area of the triangle block of land using Trigonometry Please show working aswell
So the triangle looks like this / Left side 36.4m \ Right side 30.3m _ Bottom 48.5. All help appreciated
Awkward.
You have three sides, [...]

What can you conclude is the formula for the area of a circle of radius r?

Okay the premise is that a polygon is inscribed in a circle with radius r. As n increases, the shape of the n-gon gets closer and closer to the circumference of the circle. The limit becomes closer to one.
Now the question is: What can you conclude is the formula for the area of a circle [...]

What is the formula for the area of a regular nonogon when you know the sides and the apothem?

What is the formula for area of a nonogon? I know the side lengths and the apothem.
Let me try….
The formula for area of a regular polygon is A = ½ (nR²sin(360°/n)). ¼(ns²cot(180°/n)) and nr²tan(180°/n) where…
n is the number of sides
R is the radius of circumcircle
s is the length of the side
r is the apothem
I can’t [...]

Is 1/2 asn the area formula for regular pentagons?

Is this the correct area formula for regular pentagons? If so, what do the "s" and "n" stand for. I will pick the first answerer to help me understand it.
Yes, it is correct, but a more common formula is:
A = (1/2)ap,
where a is the length of the apothem (the distance between the center to the [...]

How to derive area formula for ellipse?

Ok i know it is abPI
An i also know the formula of ellipse is
(x^2/a^2)/(y^2/b^2)=1
And i use the integral of
2*PI * Y * sqrt(1+ G)
Where G is square of derivative of Y function of ellipse.
Sorry for maybe a little bit confusing explanation, but help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
… Total Area of Ellipse
= 4 { Area in [...]

Volume, and Surface Area Formulas..Best Answer 10 Points?

I have a math test tommorow. I know this is easy for lots of you, but i’m in grade 8 and i am struggling in math. I need to know the following.
Surface Area of Prisms (ALL)
Surface Area of a Cylinder
Volume of Cylinder
Surface Area of Composite Solids
Volume of Composite Solids
I need the formulas for these. Thanks [...]

cell phone service area maps?

Where can I find maps of cell phone coverage areas for the different companies? I don’t need broad band or 3 or 4 G just cell phone service and texting. Thanks!
On each carriers page, 3rd party ones are very inaccurate.

What is the easiest way to remember formulas for surface area/volume?

I need tips for this, I’ve got an EOG tomorrow!
I figured out a pattern
I put them in this order:
Prism : 2B+Ph
(Prism is the only formula that does not haveπ )
Cylinder: 2πr^2+2πrh
(both sides of the plus sign include 2πr, they just end different)
(Prism and cylinder formulas both end in h)
Pyramid: B+1/2 Pl
(Pyramid is half of a [...]

Which of these shows how the formulas for the area of a circle and the volume of a cylinder are related?

A)The volume of a cylinder equals the area of its base divided by its height.
B)The volume of a cylinder equals the area of its base multiplied by the radius of the base.
C)The volume of a cylinder equals the area of its base multiplied by the height of the cylinder.
C
when you have doubt, please check the units.
