What is the formula for surface area of a RECTANGLE?

By this I mean,
Let’s say its a RETANGULAR PRISM…do I take the surface area and multiply it by 6?
OR
is there another formula for it?
Width * Height * 2 + Width * Length * 2 + Height * Length * 2

Why do some maps show smog/acid rain in the "Four Corners" area of the United States?

Some maps I’ve seen show mild air pollution area. I need to research the cause for one of my classes and can’t find any good information online.
This might help you get started: http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1P2-10942489.html
Also, I know the prevailing winds blow LA’s pollution eastward into Arizona. As more cities are growing in Arizona, Nevada, and Utah, [...]

Which of the following formulas would find the Lateral Area of a right cylinder where h is the height, and r i?

Which of the following formulas would find the Lateral Area of a right cylinder where h is the height, and r is the radius?
A. LA = 2rh
B. LA = 2r2
C. LA = 2r
D. LA = rh
Hi, the answer is none of them, since [...]

You cannot use the surface area formula for a right cone to find the surface area of an oblique cone.?

You cannot use the surface area formula for a right cone to find the surface area of an oblique cone.
A. True
B. False
B FALSE , because A=INT ( 2pi F(x) DS ) DS is the length of the real curve .- Thus,
DS = sqrt( (F(x+dx) -F(x))^2 + dx^2 )
DS= dx sqrt [...]

What is the relationship between angles in a triangle and the resulting area of the triangle?

1. How does the size of an angle in a given triangle relate to the Area of the triangle?
2. How does the sin of an angle relate to the area?
3. When graphing the area of a triangle against Sin(theta), a straight line is produced. What does the slope and [...]

What is the area formula for a rectangle?

1.What is the area formula for a rectangle
2. What is the area formula for a triangle
1.What is the area formula for a rectangle
A = W × L …………… where W = width, L = length
2. What is the area formula for a triangle
A = (b × h) / 2 ……….. where b = base, h [...]

What is the surface area formula for a hemisphere that is ontop of a cylinder?

This sounds like you just want the area of the hemisphere.
area of a sphere is A = 4πr²
so half that is A = 2πr²
If you want the cylinder also, area of a cylinder, just the side, is
A = 2πrh
And if there are two hemisphere, the other one is the same [...]

Where can I buy a weight pull harness in the North Carolina area?

I need to buy a weight pull harness (for pulling weight) in the North Carolina area, preferably close to Salisbury or the surrounding cities. Any help would be appreciated!
I can’t give you local options but these are several online options.

How do you prove that the area of a circle circumscribed about a square is twice the area…?

Ahaha… I’m really not good at geometry. I get basic stuff, but I really don’t get this once The full problem is "Prove that the area of a circle circumscribed about a square is twice the area of the circle inscribed within the square"
Let s = the length of the side of a square.
Then the [...]

Why does the matrix area formula for a triangle work?

Here’s the formula (referring to the verticies of a triangle in a coordinate plane):
+/- 0.5 times the determinant of:
[X1 Y1 1]
[X2 Y2 1]
[X3 Y3 1]
why does it work?
It stems from the property that the area of a parallelogram with two vectors as adjacent sides is equal to the determinant [...]
