OC&G Poll: If you are a college student, what is your major/area of specialization?
I saw in a previous poll a few nights ago that many of you are students, so I was just curious.
I used to be a Political Science major
Then I switched to History
>> I kind of miss being a political junkie because it always shocked people. I remember guys liking that I could talk politics and I even helped on the Obama campaign and I met him once & the Congresslady representing my district in Washington! Now I don’t pay attention to any of that stuff. lol.
Where is a good place to get a Mississippi map turtle in the Los Angeles area?
I have a res and I’m looking to get a Mississippi map since I’ve talked to a number of people who have had a lot of success keeping the two species together. Does anyone know where to get maps in tge LA area?
I am the good shepherd. A good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
A hired man, who is not a shepherd and whose sheep are not his own, sees a wolf coming and leaves the sheep and runs away, and the wolf catches and scatters them.
This is because he works for pay and has no concern for the sheep.
I am the good shepherd, and I know mine and mine know me,
just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I will lay down my life for the sheep.
I have other sheep that do not belong to this fold. These also I must lead, and they will hear my voice, and there will be one flock, one shepherd.
Where is a good non-family friendly camp ground in the White Mountains NH?
We are a group of late 20-somethings and we dont want a place with a curfew or kids running around and people telling us to be quiet! Any good ones in the North Conway, White Mountain NH area? Thanks!
This time of the year you will not find a privately-owned campground anywhere that does not cater for family camping.
Even the state forest camping areas will have kids everywhere!
But do check out this site, maybe give one or two of them a call and ask.
Another owner will be your best source of information:

How do I find the ratio of the area of circle I and circlle ll ?
The radius of a circle I is one half the radius of circle ll. What is the ratio of the area of circle l to the area of circle ll?
Let’s say circle I has radius of 1 and circle II has a radius of 2. Find the areas:
circle I = π * 1² = π * 1 = π
circle II = π * 2² = π * 4 = 4π
find the ratio between the areas
π / 4π
1/4 or 1:4
On Google Maps, when you press the button to see the area on street view……..?
On Google Maps, when you press the button to see the area on street view, does it show what is on the stret at the very moment, or is it what was on the street at some other time?
My question basicly is does the images change every second or do they change hourly etc.?
The pictures are taken once.
A car with 8 cameras in a circle on top of a pole drives up and down every street possible and the cameras take a circular picture every few feet. Each picture is saved with it’s location.

There’s pictures of some of the cars.
Has anyone ever been to the Seattle area? What kind of state parks are nearby? We love the mountains.?
Having some trouble finding much info about Wenatchee, but aren’t sure how far away it is (internet says a couple different things), and we didn’t want to drive someplace four hours away.
What other options are there?
Thanks, yahoo folks ![]()

Confused with this triangle area problem?
"The sum of the area of two triangles is 120cm^2. The triangles overlap to create another triangle, which is shaded. If 2/3 of the smaller triangle is unshaded, and 8/9 of the larger triangle is unshaded, what is the area of the shaded overlapping triangle?"
I tried to set up a system relating the two, but had two variables in one, and three in the other. Substitution only proved x = x for me. :p
Could someone get me started on the right path?
The part that is overlapping (shaded) is 1/3 of the smaller triangle, and 1/9 of the larger triangle.
S = area of the smaller triangle
L = area of the larger triangle
(1/3)S = (1/9)L
S = (1/3)L
You know that S + L = 120
By substitution, (1/3)L + L = 120
(4/3)L = 120
L = 90
S = 30
(1/3) of 30 = 10
(1/9) of 90 = 10
The overlapping area is 10cm²
Does any one know where I can get a map of the total area devestated by the bubonic plague?
I have found maps telling me what major cities were devastated, where it came from and dates. But I need a detailed map, with the rough total area that was effected. If any one can suggest one thank you.
Such as population loss, dates of when it hit. All that. I already seem the Wikipedia map I want to know if there is another map out there.

lucky old Scotland not getting it until 1350
Sounds what you really need is something like this though:
http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dvbid/plague/world98.htm
except that is dated 1970 onwards…
This page does have some information about the plague originating in central asia and being spread by the new trade routes created by the mongol empire:

Does anyone know of a slab hut in the mountains behind Nambucca Heads/ Coffs Harbour (North NSW) area?
We are getting married and would like to find a slab hut in the mountains that looks something like "Craig’s hut" from the ‘Man from Snowy River’ for the ceremony and our wedding photos. The wedding will be a total of 30 people and we are more than happy to pay if anyone knows of something on private property or anywhere else. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! dustmud.
there is a little hut.. up in the ranges west of grafton.. it is very scenic , rainforesty and has a nice creek.. the hut is on a little cleared plateau, very green and lush and shady
forgot its name.. gibraltor ranges…
we have gone camping there a few times, its a national park, but the amenities are bare (hole toilet, cold showers, bbq areas.. and lots of beautiful walking trails.)
for more info contact national parks, they would have a simple broucher of it… i don’t know how much you would find online about that one though.
What is the formula for finding the area of a triangle?
I don’t want someone to answer one of my geometry questions so im asking this. I totally forgot the formula for the area of a triangle. Help

Either one should work.
