What is the difference between a conformal map and an equal area map?
The Earth is a sphere, while a map is flat. Making a map will therefore introduce distortions, but the map maker can choose the kind of distortion.
In conformal maps and equal area maps the distortion is chosen differently. In a conformal map the angles are preserved, meaning that the shapes are conform to reality.
In equal area maps the areas are preserved, meaning that if one country is twice as big as another, then it will also appear twice as big on the map.

I need this for a Larger Problem, but I forgot what this is. The problem is easy if I have this Formula. Can someone give it to me?
It is the sum of all its faces area , and since you have rectangle , there are 6 faces
just simply compute them and add them up
and if you want a formula , then lets assume the dimensions are X , Y and Z
A= 2xy + 2xz + 2zy

I know area of a triangle equals 1/2 base*height. But is is, Base times Heighf FIRST, then halve it, or is it half of the base first, then times the height?
That statement was a bit confusing, so here’s a second one in case you don’t understand the first one:
When finding the area of a triangle, do we divide the product of the base and height FIRST? Or do we calculate half of the base first, then multiply it by the height?
Thanks in advanced!
It doesn’t matter what you do first. You can multiply in any order. For instance, let’s say our base is 5 and our height is 2. Let’s look at it done every way:
5×2= 10
10x (1/2)= 5
2x (1/2)= 1
1×5= 5
5x (1/2)= 2.5
2.5 x 2= 5
Regardless of what you multiply first, you will always end up with 5.

It don’t want a derivation related to rectangle or parllelogram because its the most basic formula and even the area of rectangle was derived from this formula. So I want a real basic derivation.
It can be derived using integration
consider a line of length dl and having a small thickness dx
the triangle can be assumed to be made from n lines of variable length and thickness dx
since the area covered by line is infinitesimally small it can be assumed as small rectangle having length dl and breadth dx
now area of line = dl.dx
now area of triangle= (within limits 0 to l for dl) and (within limits 0 to h for dx) integration dl.dx
i was able to imagine upto this… this will give u the hint…

Like triangle, parallelogram etc. It would be good if everything was on the same page
Wikipedia usually explains how the formulae are achieved. I haven’t searched much.
I mean some are obvious: triangle, rectangle/parallelogram, regular penta/hexa/octogon.

I can afford the most expensive areas in the metro area, what are some good areas in the suburbs of Atlanta.
The place I work is in Dunwoody, Georgia
My choices would be Gwinnett County or northern Fulton County.

We are getting ready to move to Atlanta and need the best deal on moving boxes here in the stone mountain area preferably delivered free!
Hey try a little local company called Georgia Green Box they have great prices and they deliver free in the Atlanta area they did a really great job for us we saved enough to pay for our rental truck.

I have explored the mountain area as much as possible. In the third area (starting from bluebell heading towards konohana) there is a place in which I cannot figure out how to get to. I feel reTarded lol. But I can see the slide down from a ledge and a bouncy mushroom right next to it. But I can’t figure out how to get to the ledge. It as soon as you enter the area.
I had this problem too. I was looking for this area’s entrance always. Finally i found it when Oracle appears. I don’t know if it unlocks after she arrives but go towards the mushroom tree and then left. There i remember there was an entrance followed by those stairs you have to jump and then I kept going up until I saw a bridge to my right. You go bridge, then soil, then another bridge. After this you will see a path that leads you to the oracle’s house and another that leads you to the bridge and and too the mushroom on the floor.

I need a little help with my AP Environmental H.W….
a. describe how the temperature of urban areas like Atlanta, Philadelphia and chicago differs from that of surrounding rural areas.
b. Identify and describe two differences between urban and surrounding rural areas that contribute to the temperature difference between them.
c. Urban areas typically have levels of air pollution that are significantly higher than those found in surrounding rural areas. Identify a characteristic of the urban microclimate that leads to higher levels of air pollution.
d. Identify and describe one way in which the local hydrologic cycle of urban areas differs from that of rural areas.
a. Urban areas tend to be hotter than rural ones, known as the heat island effect.
b. Areas of dark asphalt in urban areas absorb much more heat than soil, as does metal and stone. In addition, human habitations in urban areas are heated so there is more heat production in urban areas, where houses etc are more common.
c. cars cause much of the urban pollution, so do chimneys or smokestacks.
d. In urban areas, less water is absorbed by the ground; extensive pavement leads to significantly higher runoff.

My husband and I are planning on moving to Greeley, CO in the next month for my job. I was hoping to get some information on the nicest areas to live in and the areas to avoid. Are there any "artsy" areas with fun restaurants, trendy bars, shopping, gyms etc… and a larger concentration of young professionals? Which areas are known for crime? Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
Greeley isn’t as big as you must think it is, the whole town is pretty much the same and very rural except for UNC.
